Amy LaValla earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Minnesota. But even before this, she has been passionate about caring for people’s mental health needs and working with them to improve and maintain functioning.
She is continuously looking for opportunities to help shape and guide policies and practice as well as seeking out new information to help this underserved population. She has also education about
complementary practices to further support the health and well being of her clients. In addition to psychiatry, her practices
include integrative therapies of acupressure, aromatherapy, and Reiki.
Amy has worked for over 20 years with children, adolescents, and adults with mental health needs. She has worked in a variety of
settings including in client homes, outpatient clinics, residential treatment facilities, correctional facilities, and inpatient psychiatric hospitals. She is passionate about education and client care. In addition to working as a clinician, she serves as an educator, clinical supervisor, and is a member of several advisory boards.
When not working or seeking out opportunities for personal and
professional growth, Amy spends her time gardening, reading, snorkeling, diving, fishing, camping, and spending time with her
family, dogs, and fish.
